'Increasingly Williams Brothers get asked to build 'knock down and build' projects, subject of course, to planning permission. This year we created a beautiful looking woodland cottage style house in a most stunning elevated position over looking breath taking countryside. Our clients were eager to be as 'green' as possible. As well as all the modern insulation you could shake a stick at and a Taylor Lane timber frame as it's core, an air source heat pump was installed to power underfloor heating, radiators and hot water most effectively.
External materials complement each other harmoniously; hard wearing Douglas Fir boarding with Forest of Dean stone, topped off with orange/red clay handmade roof tiles. Silver Lindab rainwater goods were used for a contemporary but low maintenance and durability addition. Bespoke windows were made by a local joinery firm and finished off with in soft petrol blue paint. Inside the handmade kitchen by Julian Monkley is the centre piece of cottage style open plan living.
